This piece is based on one of my favorite Star Trek : Deep Space Nine episodes "Take me to the Holosuite" I enjoy the father son relationship in the series and really felt this moment. I played baseball alot when i was younger and my dad was one of the assist coaches when he had time. It was really fun and grew our bond together! We both also love Star Trek too!
 
When creating this piece i couldn't help but think of my father while drawing. As I progressed through, I reminded myself how important a smile from someone you love can change your day. I thought of the strength my dad gives me during times of stress and drama. I wanted to show the impact of that nurture and care from a black father!
